In a strategic move to expand its solar module production capabilities, Citizen Solar Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China-based Jinchen Corporation for the supply of 2.4 gigawatts (GW) of fully automated, turnkey module manufacturing equipment.
The agreement marks a major step forward for Citizen Solar as it scales up its manufacturing operations to meet growing domestic and international demand for high-efficiency solar panels. The equipment from Jinchen Corp will power the next phase of Citizen Solar’s advanced module production facility, which is being developed in Gujarat. With this collaboration, Citizen Solar aims to adopt cutting-edge automation and next-generation technologies such as TOPCon in its upcoming production lines. This will enable the company to produce high-efficiency modules at a competitive cost, while also ensuring quality, consistency, and speed in manufacturing.
Addressing the MoU, the Citizen Solar management team emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy mission and strengthening its position as a global player in the solar manufacturing sector. The partnership is expected to play a critical role in enhancing local value addition, generating skilled employment, and contributing to India’s push for energy self-reliance.
Jinchen Corporation, a global leader in solar manufacturing equipment, will provide the full suite of automation solutions, including stringers, layup systems, laminators, testers, and packaging units all designed for seamless integration and optimal performance. The equipment delivery and installation are scheduled in phases, with commercial production anticipated to begin later this year.This MoU signals a strong intent by Citizen Solar to align with India’s vision of becoming a major hub for green technology manufacturing and export, while also accelerating the global shift towards clean energy solutions.
