At the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (North Gujarat) held in Mehsana, Essar Renewables announced a landmark commitment to India’s green energy transition by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest ₹20,000 crore in developing 4 GW of renewable energy projects.
The event, pioneered under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Shri Pralhad Joshi, with Ankur Kumar, CEO of Essar Renewables, representing the company. The renewable projects, encompassing solar, wind, and battery storage facilities, will be strategically located across Kutch, Jamnagar, and Devbhumi Dwarka districts — further reinforcing Gujarat’s leadership in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure.
This large-scale investment is a key step in realizing the vision of Viksit Gujarat – Viksit Bharat @ 2047, aimed at achieving energy independence and creating a robust green energy ecosystem.
With this move, Gujarat once again cements its position at the forefront of India’s industrial growth and energy transition, setting a benchmark for public-private collaboration in the renewable energy sector.
