H2 India, MPP Sign Framework to Accelerate Clean Hydrogen Projects in India

GH2 India has signed a Framework for Action with the Mission Possible Partnership (MPP) to accelerate the development of commercial-scale clean hydrogen and derivative projects in the country. The collaboration will be carried out through the Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) and aims to strengthen India’s clean industrial ecosystem.

The agreement focuses on building project visibility, stimulating domestic and international demand, and supporting projects in reaching Final Investment Decision (FID). It was signed in the presence of Shri Bhupinder Bhalla, Chair of the Advisory Board, GH2 India.

Speaking on the collaboration, Nishaanth Balashanmugam, CEO and Director of GH2 India, said that India’s clean industrial transition requires coordinated execution to move projects from intent to investment. He noted that the framework with MPP, through the ITA, will focus on demand stimulation, project pipeline visibility, and practical support on contracting and standards to help unlock barriers and accelerate projects toward FID.

Under the partnership, both organizations will work on stimulating demand for green hydrogen and its derivatives, increasing the visibility of investible project pipelines, and providing technical support on policy, regulation, and contracting. The initiative will also aim to strengthen government–industry alignment, particularly across ports and related infrastructure.

Key priority areas include India-EU engagement on certification and RFNBO compliance, including participation at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam in May 2026. The collaboration will also focus on offtake dialogues, the development of green shipping corridors, and expanding SECI tenders to cover green ammonia and methanol.

Additionally, the partners plan to accelerate India’s FID-ready projects through the Global Project Tracker, with the broader objective of building the enabling environment required for India to play a leading role in the global clean hydrogen economy.
