GRE Renew Enertech Limited announced that it has been awarded a 1 MW (1,000 kW) grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The project will be executed and operated by GRE under the RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model.
The project is aligned with the Government of India’s broader clean energy objectives and reflects the growing adoption of renewable energy across public institutions. Under the RESCO model, GRE Renew Enertech will be responsible for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the rooftop solar system, enabling the use of solar power without upfront capital expenditure by the government entity.
Once operational, the project is expected to contribute to a reduction in the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s dependence on conventional grid electricity.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Kamlesh Patel, Managing Director of GRE Renew Enertech Limited, said: “We are pleased to be associated with a project of national importance and to contribute to the adoption of clean energy in public infrastructure.” As per the SECI brief, the scope of work includes the design, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar project. It also involves providing operations and maintenance (O&M) services for 25 years, covering preventive and breakdown maintenance, cleaning, replacement of defective parts, insurance, online monitoring, and joint meter readings
