In a significant milestone for India’s renewable energy sector, Juniper Green Energy has successfully commissioned the remaining 71 megawatt-peak (MWp) capacity of its solar power project located in Chapalgaon, Maharashtra. With this final addition, the company has now completed the full 217 MWp capacity of the project, further strengthening the state’s push toward cleaner energy.
The Chapalgaon project was executed in two phases, with the first 146 MWp commissioned in May 2025 and the remaining 71 MWp brought online in June. What sets this achievement apart is the remarkable speed of implementation, Juniper Green Energy completed the entire project just four months after signing the power purchase agreement (PPA), well ahead of its original commissioning schedule by more than a year.
The solar project will supply green electricity to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), helping reduce carbon emissions and improve energy access in the region. Juniper Green Energy’s timely execution reflects its growing reputation for operational excellence and reinforces its commitment to driving India’s energy transition through large-scale, utility-grade renewable installations.
