KP Group Partners with AHES and GH2 Solar to Establish India’s Pioneering Green Ammonia Plant

On Wednesday, the KP Group announced a partnership with South Korean company AHES and GH2 Solar Ltd to set up and manage a green ammonia production plant in India, with an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons. The partnership has been formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Pvt Ltd (KPI GH), a KP Group company, AHES Co Ltd, and GH2 Solar Ltd, according to an official company statement.

Key highlights of the agreement include the production and supply of 100,000 TPA of green ammonia, with AHES and GH2 responsible for securing off-take agreements, and AHES also serving as a direct off-taker. Besides, pricing will be indexed to international ammonia benchmarks, ensuring competitive positioning, as part of a 15-year strategic collaboration that reinforces KP Group’s commitment to a sustainable energy future.

“This partnership embodies KP Group’s commitment to driving clean energy innovation, both in India and on the global stage,” said Faruk Patel, Chairman & Managing Director of KP Group. Patel further emphasised, “With KPI GH managing the facility and strategic backing from AHES and GH2, we are establishing new industry standards in green ammonia production and fostering international collaboration.” The facility will be developed and operated by KPI GH, with technical and strategic
support provided by AHES and GH2. Their roles will include securing offtake agreements for the green ammonia produced, targeting markets in South Korea, Japan, and other international regions.

The Green Ammonia facility will utilise renewable energy and infrastructure solutions provided by KP Group companies, including KPI Green Energy Ltd, KP Energy Ltd, and KP Green Engineering Ltd, guaranteeing a sustainable, low-carbon feedstock for ammonia production. This integrated approach leverages KP Group’s extensive 30+ years of expertise in the renewable energy sector, with a current portfolio comprising over 1.9 GW of installed power capacity and more than 3.9 GW
under development.
