Larsen & Toubro (L&T) stated yesterday that it has secured an EPC contract to develop a 116 MWac grid-connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV) plant in Kajra, Lakhisarai district, Bihar. The company has classified the order as a ‘significant’ order, indicating that its value falls between ₹ 1,000 and ₹ 2,500.
This plant will be integrated with a 241 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), positioning Lakhisarai in Bihar as the largest energy storage site co-located with solar power generation. This order represents an expansion of the previous phase, increasing the total co-located storage capacity at the renewable generation site in Lakhisarai to 495 MWh—making it the largest project of its kind awarded by a state utility in India, the company stated in a stock exchange filing.
L&T’s Renewables division recently secured an EPC contract for a 275 MW solar PV project in Gujarat. This new addition further reinforces its standing as a premier provider of flexible, efficient, and cost-effective green energy solutions across India.
