Mr. Brijesh Prajapati Country Director - India SOFAR Solar

“Our modular and scalable approach allows SOFAR to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions across industrial segments while maximising energy efficiency and long-term value.”

1. SOFAR has emphasised innovation as a core pillar of its growth. Could you elaborate on your R&D strategy and key priorities over the next three to five years, particularly in high-power PV inverters, utility-scale energy storage, and digitalisation?

SOFAR’s R&D strategy is guided by a clear vision to make solar and storage solutions smarter, safer, and more efficient through continuous innovation. We invest significantly in research that not only enhances product performance but also prepares our portfolio for the evolving dynamics of global and local energy systems.

Over the next three to five years, our R&D priorities will be strongly aligned with accelerating industrial and utility-scale energy transition. First, we are focusing on next-generation highpower PV inverter platforms to support larger module formats and high-capacity power plants. Second, utility-scale energy storage solutions represent a major growth area. We are advancing modular and scalable ESS platforms integrated with intelligent energy management systems to support grid stability, peak shaving, frequency regulation, and hybrid PV-plus-storage deployments. Third, digitalization is a strategic priority. We are investing in advanced monitoring, cloud-based asset management, and AI-driven performance optimisation tools.

2. With a portfolio ranging from residential systems to 350 kW utility inverters and advanced ESS solutions, how does SOFAR strategically cater to the evolving energy requirements of manufacturing, heavy industry, and large commercial & industrial segments?

SOFAR’s portfolio spanning 1kW residential systems to 350 kW utility inverters and advanced energy storage solutions is strategically designed to address diverse industrial energy needs. For manufacturing and heavy industrial facilities, high-power string inverters combined with modular ESS platforms enable large-scale rooftop or groundmounted installations, supporting peak shaving, demand charge reduction, and operational reliability In large-scale commercial and industrial rooftops, mid- to high-capacity three-phase inverters offer scalable, high-efficiency performance, while integrated storage solutions optimise selfconsumption and manage time-of-use tariffs.

Our modular and scalable approach allows SOFAR to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions across industrial segments while maximising energy efficiency and long-term value.

3. Digitalisation appears to be a strong differentiator for SOFAR. How do SOFAR Cloud and your advanced energy management platforms enhance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency for industrial customers?

SOFAR differentiates its industrial offerings through a strong digital ecosystem anchored by SOFAR Cloud and advanced energy management platforms. Through real-time smart monitoring, industrial customers gain complete visibility over PV and ESS performance across multiple sites, enabling faster decision-making and reduced O&M costs.

Predictive maintenance capabilities powered by data analytics, intelligent fault detection, and remote diagnostics help minimise downtime, extend equipment life, and improve plant reliability.

4. As industries accelerate their decarbonisation efforts, what role does SOFAR see itself playing in enabling net-zero targets through integrated PV, storage, and intelligent energy management solutions?

At SOFAR, we see our role in the net-zero transition as an enabler of scalable decarbonisation and energy flexibility. By delivering high-efficiency PV inverters, integrated energy storage systems, and intelligent energy management platforms, we help industries maximise renewable procurement and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Our solutions support peak shaving, load shifting, and grid-interactive operations critical for modern industrial energy strategies. Through continuous innovation and digitalisation, we empower businesses to achieve carbon reduction targets while improving operational efficiency and long-term energy resilience.
