EDP Renewables has won 20-year contracts in the latest Italian renewables auction run by Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE).The projects, 70% wind and 30% solar projects, are expected to be in operation by 2024. EDP Renewables' capacity secured in this auction represents 43% of the total capacity awarded by all players.EDP Renewables has secured approximately 52% of the targeted additions of around 17GW announced during EDPR Capital Markets Day in March 2023.The company entered the Italian market in 2010 and its first wind farm began operations in 2012. EDP Renewables has installed over 520MW of renewable capacity in the country and has over 230MW of projects under construction across Italy, employing over 60 people.
