On Sunday, the foundation stone for the construction of a solar power project of 630 MW in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh was laid. The foundation stone for NTPC Renewable Energy Limited's Barethi Solar Power Project was laid by Union Ministers for Power and New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh, and Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendra Kumar.

 

RK Singh, who participated in the program via video conference, stated that the government has been working in the power sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership in a historic way, with capacity nearly doubling in the last ten years.

The power minister stated that the government had provided electricity connections to every village in the nation. "In rural areas, the availability of electricity has increased to over 22 hours, while in urban areas; it has reached over 23 hours. About 4,000 substations have been upgraded, and about 3,000 substations have been added," the minister said.
