Renewable energy can meet 65% of the world's electricity supply; more supply will increase by 2050

Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh, has said that renewable energy sources can supply 65 percent of the world's total electricity by 2030 and 90 percent by 2050. He further said that nearly 80 percent of the global population lives in countries that depend on fossil fuel imports, totaling a staggering 6 billion. RK Singh, who is also the President of ISA, said the recent G20 summit in New Delhi also underlined the urgent need for a clean energy transition.
