NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has further strengthened its renewable energy portfolio by commissioning an additional 165 MW capacity at its 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat.

The newly operationalised capacity, developed through NGEL’s wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, marks the fourth phase of the project. With this addition, the total commissioned capacity of the Khavda-II project has reached 810 MW.

The project has been progressing in a phased manner, with earlier commissioning of 210 MW in January 2026, 165 MW in February, and 270 MW earlier in March.

Following the latest addition, NGEL’s total installed capacity has increased to 9,727.68 MW, reflecting steady growth in its renewable energy portfolio.

The Khavda solar development forms part of India’s ambitious renewable energy expansion, with NTPC targeting a significant increase in green capacity in the coming years. The company aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, contributing substantially to the country’s clean energy transition.
