NTPC Green Energy Signs MoU with Nxtra Data for Renewable Energy Projects in India

NTPC Green Energy Limited has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nxtra Data Limited to explore the development of renewable energy projects across India, marking a significant step toward powering the country’s growing digital infrastructure with clean energy.

The agreement was formalised on March 24, 2026, at NTPC Bhawan in New Delhi, with the MoU signed by Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of NTPC Green Energy and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, and Ashish Arora, CEO of Nxtra Data Limited.

Under this partnership, both companies will collaborate to identify and develop renewable energy projects aimed at supplying round-the-clock (RTC) green power to Nxtra’s data centres nationwide. The generated power will primarily be used for captive consumption, ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for Nxtra’s expanding operations.

The collaboration reflects the increasing convergence between India’s clean energy sector and its rapidly growing data centre industry, which is witnessing rising demand for uninterrupted and environmentally sustainable power. By leveraging NTPC Green Energy’s expertise in renewable power generation and Nxtra’s digital infrastructure footprint, the initiative is expected to strengthen the adoption of green energy solutions in energy-intensive sectors.

This move also aligns with broader national efforts to accelerate the clean energy transition while supporting the sustainability goals of large commercial consumers.
