In a major boost to clean energy development, the Government of Odisha has secured investment commitments worth ₹67,000 crore for a total renewable energy pipeline of 6.8 GW. The announcements were made during the 3rd Renewable Energy Investor Conclave 2026, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister KV Singh Deo.

State utility GRIDCO Limited signed multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with leading public and private sector companies covering solar, wind, hybrid, storage, and green hydrogen projects.

The largest commitment came from a consortium of ABC Cleantech Pvt Ltd and Axis Energy Ventures India Pvt Ltd, which proposed 5,000 MW of projects with an investment of ₹47,750 crore. The projects will include wind, agro-voltaic, solar, hybrid systems with battery energy storage, and green hydrogen and derivative production.

Public sector companies also announced major projects. NHPC Limited signed an MoU for the 1,000 MW Masintha pumped storage project with an investment of ₹6,036 crore. North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited committed to the 800 MW Dandadhar pumped storage project with an investment of ₹4,000 crore. Meanwhile, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited proposed 500 MW of renewable energy projects worth ₹3,000 crore.

In addition to the signed MoUs, the state received private sector investment intents worth over ₹6,000 crore on the first day of the conclave. The event also marked the launch of Odisha’s first wind resource assessment project and the introduction of a city accelerator programme covering six cities under a rooftop solar rollout.

The state government has set an ambitious target of achieving 11 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and aims to source 74 percent of its energy from renewables by 2047. Officials highlighted that the roadmap will be supported by faster project approvals, assured offtake mechanisms, and transparent procurement frameworks.
