Galaxy Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to invest ₹10,080 crore in setting up an integrated solar cell and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Nagpur district.
The agreement was signed during the Advantage Vidarbha Summit 2026 in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The proposed project will focus on the manufacturing of solar cells and battery energy storage systems, forming an integrated clean energy manufacturing facility. The development will be implemented in phases over the next decade.
With a total planned investment of ₹10,080 crore, the facility is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, reduce dependence on imports, and support the large-scale deployment of renewable energy and grid stability solutions in the country.
The project is also expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment, contributing to the development of the Vidarbha region as a major clean energy manufacturing hub. By expanding local production of solar cells and energy storage systems, the initiative aligns with India’s broader goals of boosting domestic manufacturing and accelerating the clean energy transition.
