Vayona Energy Secures First India Deal with Oyster Renewable for 64.8 MW Wind Project

Vayona Energy Signs First India Contract with Oyster Renewable Energy

Vayona Energy announces its first India market deal with Oyster Renewable Energy, an Independent Power Producer (IPP).

Under this agreement, Vayona Energy will supply 18 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines, totalling 64.8 MW, for a project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, along with a long-term operations and maintenance contract.

Building on the recent entry into the Indian market, after the acquisition from Siemens Gamesa, Vayona entered the market with a strategy to scale onshore wind solutions across India and Sri Lanka.

Prashant Jain, Executive Vice Chairman of Vayona Energy, said, “We’ve made a strong start with a robust customer order book exceeding 1 GW and an O&M portfolio of 7 GW. This order from Oyster Energy further reinforces the confidence our customers place in our products and capabilities. Our commitment to the Indian market is unwavering. We are building on this strong foundation with optimised offerings designed to boost performance and competitiveness. We are gearing up to meet diverse customer needs with agility and innovation to serve India’s growing renewable energy landscape. We thank Oyster Energy for their trust as they continue to build their renewable energy portfolio in India.”

Commenting on this, Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director, Oyster Renewable Energy, said, “This 64.8 MW project is a major milestone-representing our first and largest venture into Andhra Pradesh. Vayona Energy was the clear choice for their technical excellence and robust manufacturing base, specifically their advanced 3.6 MW machines, which are perfectly suited for the region’s wind conditions. This partnership reinforces our commitment to the ‘Make in India’ approach, allowing us to strengthen the domestic energy ecosystem while delivering high-performance, sustainable power to our commercial and industrial clients.”

The major components for these wind turbines will be manufactured and assembled at Vayona Energy’s facilities in Mamandur, near Chennai, with supply scheduled to commence in the first quarter of CY 2026.
