“We already supply our cables to the Indian Railways. We see strong potential in the automotive segment, especially EV vehicles, where cables need higher thermal endurance and enhanced mechanical performance. Over the longer term, sectors like aerospace and defence are also interesting, though they require a highly specialized approach.”

Anand E-Beam is known for leveraging Electron Beam technology in cable cross-linking. For readers unfamiliar with the concept, what exactly is E-Beam technology, and how does it change the game compared to traditional methods?

Electron Beam technology is essentially about improving materials at a molecular level. Traditional cross-linking methods often depend on chemicals or heat-based curing processes, whereas E-Beam uses high-energy electrons to restructure polymer chains without additives.

What this means in practical terms is that the insulation becomes stronger, more heat-resistant, and more reliable over a longer period of time. You are not just improving performance incrementally; you are fundamentally enhancing the DNA of the cable.

For us, this technology represents precision and consistency. It allows us to produce insulation that performs better in extreme environments while maintaining safety and environmental responsibility.

Your Surat facility houses a 2.0 MeV Electron Beam Accelerator — a significant investment. How has this shaped your competitive edge in the Indian market?

The 2.0 MeV Electron Beam Accelerator has been the foundation of our innovation strategy. It allows us to maintain precise control over the irradiation process, ensuring uniform cross-linking across every meter of cable we produce. That level of consistency is critical when you are delivering products for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.

More recently, we have strengthened this capability further by adding a new 3.0 MeV Electron Beam Accelerator, which marks an important step in our growth journey. The addition expands both our processing capacity and technological range, allowing us to work with more demanding cable constructions and advanced applications.

From a business perspective, this dual-accelerator setup gives us a strong edge. First, it ensures consistency at scale essential for large projects and long-term reliability. Second, it enables  faster turnaround while maintaining high quality standards. And third, it firmly positions Anand E-Beam as a technology-led manufacturer rather than a conventional cable producer.

In a rapidly evolving Indian market where demand for high-performance cables is accelerating, having both 2.0 MeV and 3.0 MeV Electron Beam infrastructure allows us to differentiate ourselves by delivering global-level performance from a domestic manufacturing base.

Solar PV installations demand extreme durability. What specific advantages do your EBXL Solar DC Cables bring to solar developers and EPCs?

Solar projects are built with a 25-year vision, so cable reliability becomes absolutely critical. Our EBXL Solar DC cables are designed for exactly these long-term conditions.

They offer exceptional thermal stability, strong UV resistance, and excellent mechanical durability which means they perform consistently under harsh sunlight, fluctuating temperatures, and outdoor exposure. In addition, the improved insulation structure supports better current-carrying capacity and reduced degradation.

For developers and EPCs, this translates into reduced maintenance risks, improved energy efficiency, and higher long-term project reliability which ultimately affects project profitability and bankability.

Quality and safety remain central to infrastructure products. How does Anand E-Beam ensure long-term reliability across sectors?

Quality is embedded into every stage of our process, from raw material selection to final testing. We don’t view quality as an inspection step at the end; we see it as a culture. Every batch undergoes rigorous in-process checks, including electrical testing, dimensional accuracy, and insulation integrity validation. Our irradiation parameters are tightly controlled, and we conduct accelerated aging tests to ensure performance over time.

Ultimately, cables are safety-critical products. When you are supplying to energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors, reliability has to be non-negotiable, and that mindset drives everything we do.

Electron Beam processing has applications beyond solar. Do you see Anand E-Beam expanding into industries like automotive, rail, or aerospace?

Absolutely. This is one of the most exciting phases for us. Electron Beam technology is inherently versatile, which opens opportunities across multiple advanced industries.

We already supply our cables to the Indian Railways. We see strong potential in automotive segment especially EV vehicles, where cables need higher thermal endurance and enhanced mechanical performance. Over the longer term, sectors like aerospace and defence are also interesting, though they require a highly specialized approach.

Our philosophy, however, is not to diversify for the sake of expansion. We focus on areas where E-Beam technology creates genuine value and solves real performance challenges.

India’s renewable energy sector is expanding rapidly. What role do you see Anand E-Beam playing in strengthening the domestic supply chain and enhancing global competitiveness?

India is entering a decisive phase in its renewable energy journey. As installations scale rapidly, the importance of a strong, technology-driven domestic supply chain becomes critical. High-performance components especially cables are fundamental to the longterm reliability of renewable assets, and that is where we see Anand E-Beam making a meaningful impact.

Our vision is twofold. First, we want to strengthen India’s self-reliance by reducing dependency on imported specialty cables and proving that worldclass Electron Beam cross-linked solutions can be engineered and manufactured domestically. Second, we aim to position Indian manufacturing on the global stage through innovation, quality, and scale.

Over the years, our cables have already played a significant role in the renewable ecosystem. We have supplied over 80 million metres of cable. This demonstrates not only our manufacturing capability but also the trust placed in us by developers and EPC partners.

At the same time, our outlook is global. Anand E-Beam today exports to markets across Europe, Australia, China, the UK, Sri Lanka, and Russia, which validates the competitiveness and quality of Indian-made E-Beam cable solutions. By continuously investing in advanced infrastructure, capability building, and innovation, we intend to expand this footprint further.

We believe India has the potential to become a global hub for advanced cable manufacturing and Anand E-Beam is committed to being at the forefront of that movement, supporting both the nation’s renewable ambitions and its global manufacturing leadership.
