Enrich Energy Wins 290 MWh BESS Project from NTPC at Simhadri Thermal Plant

Maharashtra-based solar EPC company Enrich Energy has announced that it has secured a 290 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project from NTPC, marking the company’s first major order in the BESS segment.

The company secured the capacity through a competitive bid issued in September 2025, the result of which was announced earlier this week. The project will be deployed at NTPC’s Simhadri Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh, the company stated.

The BESS project scope at NTPC encompasses end-to-end installation and seamless integration with existing thermal infrastructure, reflecting a full-stack execution model. It includes deployment of advanced systems such as battery units, Battery Management System (BMS), Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and inverter-duty transformers to ensure operational efficiency and grid stability.

The scope further covers 33 kV pooling switchgear, along with comprehensive protection and communication systems, auxiliary setups, and robust fire safety provisions. Additionally, the project incorporates remote monitoring and control infrastructure, backed by dedicated Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services to ensure long-term performance reliability.

He further added that Enrich is eying opportunities beyond conventional solar energy to serve the avenues of integrated energy transition solutions like standalone BESS, solar + BESS hybrid, behind-the-meter BESS and more. “We have built strategic tie-ups with critical supply chain partners and strengthened our EPC and OMS capabilities in these areas,” he said.
