Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL), Government of Rajasthan, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advancing renewable energy deployment, energy transition strategies, and sustainable development initiatives across Rajasthan.
The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Yogendra Mathur, Director (Technical), RRECL, and Mr. Girish Sethi, Senior Director, TERI. The partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening Rajasthan’s clean energy ecosystem and supporting India’s broader sustainability and climate action goals.
TERI, established in 1974, is a leading independent research organization in India with expertise in policy research, technology development, and implementation across the energy and environment sectors.
Under the collaboration, RRECL and TERI will work together on multiple focus areas including renewable energy integration, Agri-PV initiatives, energy storage solutions, electric mobility, grid integration studies, innovative policy frameworks, emerging technologies, and capacity building initiatives.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Rohit Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, RRECL, emphasized the importance of undertaking large-scale and replicable energy transition demonstration projects. He highlighted the need for active participation from farmers, power offtakers, and other stakeholders to accelerate Rajasthan’s clean energy ambitions and drive sustainable growth in the state.
The partnership will also focus on battery energy storage technologies, innovative solar applications such as Building Integrated PV and rooftop integrated PV systems, as well as technical support for Distributed Renewable Energy Project Management Systems. In addition, the collaboration will provide policy and regulatory support for faster implementation of renewable energy projects and support studies related to green belt and plantation requirements on designated government land during project development.
Capacity building programs and stakeholder engagement initiatives will also form a key part of the partnership, aimed at enhancing awareness, technical expertise, and collaboration across the renewable energy value chain.
The collaboration between RRECL and TERI is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Rajasthan’s renewable energy roadmap while contributing to India’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
