Elan Energy has achieved a major breakthrough by securing the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for 16 Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects in India. The prestigious order, awarded by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), is valued at around ₹300 million.
This partnership will see Elan Energy leading the development of new facilities across several Indian states, aimed at converting agricultural residue, municipal solid waste, and biomass into clean fuel. These CBG projects mark a significant step forward in advancing India’s clean energy ecosystem.
Under the PMC contract, Elan Energy will oversee the end-to-end management of the projects, including:
- Detailed engineering design and planning
- Vendor tendering and contractor management
- Execution, supervision, and commissioning of facilities
- Ensuring performance guarantees and operational readiness
- Maintaining high-quality standards and timely execution across all sites
Through these initiatives, Elan Energy aims to establish a strong compressed biogas production network in India, aligned with national sustainability goals.
These projects form a crucial part of the Government of India’s Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) programme, which is designed to:
- Expand India’s bioenergy footprint
- Boost the production of compressed biogas in India
- Create new economic opportunities for rural communities
- Promote the adoption of clean fuel projects for a greener future
The SATAT programme represents a bold step in reducing dependency on fossil fuels while enabling energy security and rural development.
