₹7,000 crore investment planned in two phases; advanced TOPCon Bifacial Technology to power India’s clean-energy manufacturing push

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh | October 30, 2025: Agastya Energy Industries Pvt. Ltd. today announced plans to set up an integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. With a planned investment of ₹7,000 crore, the project will be developed in two phases and is poised to become one of India’s largest end-to-end solar manufacturing facilities.

Aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, the facility aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, reduce import dependence, and support the national goal of 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. Construction and commissioning will commence following the completion of regulatory approvals and land allocation.

TOPCon Bifacial Technology for superior efficiency and performance

The Kurnool unit will deploy next-generation TOPCon Bifacial Technology across cell manufacturing, integrated with module lines to deliver high-efficiency, high-reliability products. Compared with conventional PERC, TOPCon Bifacial enables higher conversion efficiency, superior bifacial performance, enhanced temperature tolerance, and lower degradation, ensuring greater energy yield across diverse Indian climatic conditions.

Bernhard Rack, Chief Executive Officer, Agastya Energy Industries, said:

“Our Kurnool facility represents a decisive step in advancing India’s solar manufacturing capabilities. We are creating a technologically advanced, environmentally responsible, and globally competitive production base that sets new benchmarks in efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.”

Gaurav Tripathi, Director, Agastya Energy Industries, said:

“This investment underscores our long-term commitment to India’s clean-energy goals. Beyond manufacturing, the project will drive skilled employment, deepen the indigenous value chain, and catalyze partnerships across the solar ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.”

Developed over approximately 120 acres in two phases, the project is expected to attract component and materials suppliers, spur local industrial growth, and position Andhra Pradesh as a leading destination for renewable-energy manufacturing and green investment.
