Elcogen, a specialist in high-efficiency solid oxide fuel cell technology for clean power generation and green hydrogen production, has appointed Anil Srikar Pavuluri as Business Development Director for India and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, marking a strategic expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets.
Based in New Delhi, Pavuluri will lead Elcogen’s growth across India and the wider APAC region, focusing on identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and supporting the deployment of zero-carbon energy technologies. He brings over two decades of experience in solid oxide technology, including high-performance solid oxide cells, stacks, and modules, alongside operational manufacturing expertise of up to 360 MW capacity.
The appointment comes at a time when India and the broader Asia-Pacific region are witnessing rapid growth in energy demand and an accelerating shift towards cleaner energy systems. According to the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2025, India’s energy mix is steadily transitioning towards renewables, with solar PV and wind projected to rise from around 2% today to nearly 20% by 2050 under current policies, while energy demand is growing fastest in industry and transport.
Across the Asia-Pacific, total final energy demand is expected to increase from approximately 450 exajoules in 2024 to over 500 exajoules by 2035, driven by industrialisation and rising living standards, reinforcing the need for cleaner, more efficient energy solutions.
India’s ambitious policy framework—including expanded non-fossil power capacity, nuclear energy growth, higher ethanol blending, and the planned introduction of a carbon market—creates strong momentum for advanced clean technologies. Elcogen’s solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) solutions are well positioned to support decarbonisation across hard-to-abate industrial sectors, data centres, and remote microgrids.
Commenting on his appointment, Pavuluri highlighted the strong alignment between regional energy needs and Elcogen’s technology portfolio, noting that hard-to-abate sectors and the growing hydrogen economy present significant opportunities for high-efficiency hydrogen production and clean power generation. He will travel extensively across the region to engage with partners and stakeholders to support Elcogen’s expansion and collaborative growth.
