Green Energy Transition Gains Momentum with Lower Solar and Wind Tariffs

India’s clean energy shift is set to accelerate as the cost of generating renewable power continues to decline. Industry estimates suggest that solar power generation costs will fall by about 10 paise per unit, while wind power projects are expected to see a reduction of 15–17 paise per unit.

The downward trend in tariffs is expected to ease power purchase costs for utilities, making renewable energy even more competitive against conventional sources. Analysts highlight that these cost improvements will strengthen the economics of upcoming projects, encourage greater adoption, and contribute to India’s long-term decarbonization goals.

Experts believe that steady technological advancements, improved project efficiencies, and favorable policy support will keep driving the cost curve down, making green energy more accessible to consumers and industries a like.
