Gujarat Sees Major Solar Push as PM Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth INR 26,354 Crore

PM Modi Inaugurates ₹26,354 Cr Projects in Gujarat Including 475 MW Solar Feeder & Badeli PV Plant
PM Modi boosts Gujarat’s clean energy journey with new solar projects: 475 MW solar feeder, 45 MW Badeli PV Plant, and India’s first fully solarised Dhordo village.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several central & state solar projects in Gujarat, as part of a larger infrastructure drive totaling INR 26,354 crore. These solar initiatives form a key component of the announced works.

Solar Highlights

  • A 475 MW solar feeder (PM-KUSUM Component C) for farmers was dedicated, which aims to expand solar-based power access for agricultural users.
  • The 45 MW Badeli Solar PV Project was inaugurated, strengthening Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity.
  • Complete solarisation of Dhordo village, making it fully powered by solar, was unveiled as part of the rural electrification/sustainability efforts under the state’s clean energy initiatives.

These solar project inaugurations reflect Gujarat’s continued leadership in India’s renewable energy transition. By adding substantial solar PV capacity and expanding agricultural solar feeders, the state is reinforcing its commitment to clean power, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and increasing energy access in rural areas.

With these additions, Gujarat moves closer to meeting its green energy goals and showcases a replicable model of combining utility-scale solar, decentralized energy supply (for villages), and specialized agriculture feeders.
