Hindustan Zinc Limited has been recognised among the top one percent of global companies in the Metals & Mining category in the prestigious S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 following its exceptional performance in the annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
The company achieved an outstanding Corporate Sustainability Assessment score of 90 out of 100, placing it in the elite top tier of worldwide performers and marking its ninth consecutive inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook and third year in the top one percent segment. The ranking highlights leadership in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices compared with international peers.
The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook evaluates thousands of publicly traded firms across dozens of industries and assesses sustainability performance based on key criteria such as climate strategy, water stewardship, workplace practices, governance frameworks and social impact metrics. In this 2026 edition, more than 9,200 companies were evaluated, with only 848 selected for inclusion and an even smaller group ranked within the top one percent.
This latest distinction builds on the company’s previous achievements, including recognition as the world’s most sustainable metals and mining firm in prior CSA evaluations. The ongoing recognition underscores the company’s long-term commitment to embedding sustainability deeply across its operations – from responsible mining practices and decarbonisation initiatives to community engagement and transparent governance.
