NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned 158.4 MW of solar capacity in Andhra Pradesh, marking another milestone in its renewable energy expansion journey. The capacity forms part of a 250 MW solar photovoltaic project currently under development in the state.
According to a certificate issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) on February 20, 2026, the 158.4 MW capacity was declared commercially operational with effect from February 14, 2026.
The project is being developed by Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power. Ayana operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture between Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd and NTPC Limited.
With this commissioning, the commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased from 8,992.68 MW to 9,151.08 MW. Meanwhile, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has reached 88,132 MW, and its total commercial capacity now stands at 87,052 MW.
The addition reinforces NTPC’s strategy to scale up its utility-scale renewable energy portfolio and strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing solar power sector, supporting the nation’s clean energy transition goals.
