Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORS), a player in sustainable energy and resource recovery, appointed Pankaj Tanwar as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Bioenergy Division. Tanwar brings over two decades of experience as an environmental engineer, specializing in waste valorisation, resource recovery, and bioenergy systems. Holding an M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering with a focus on advanced waste management, he has consistently driven innovation in aerobic and anaerobic treatment technologies for water, wastewater, and solid waste.

His contributions to high-solids thermophilic digestion have significantly boosted biogas yields and improved the quality of fermented organic manure (FOM). With a strong techno-commercial approach, Tanwar has led projects spanning anaerobic digestion, biogas utilization, power generation, and CBG (Compressed Biogas) upgrading, while also integrating gasification, pyrolysis, and incineration into sustainable energy frameworks.

Tanwar’s professional journey reflects deep alignment with India’s national and state bioenergy policies, advancing both centralized and decentralized initiatives. Notably, during his tenure at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), he contributed to innovative systems, including zero liquid discharge (ZLD) solutions.

An active researcher and innovator, Tanwar has authored more than ten international SCI-indexed papers and co-authored several book chapters on waste management, emission control, and circular economy practices. His developments include intermittent cyclic processes for optimizing biological systems and real-time monitoring tools for environmental applications.
