Oswal Pumps has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Oswal Solar Energy, has secured an order worth INR 39.40 crore from Swashakthi Energy for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 7.46 MWp rooftop solar systems.

The order positions the company to enter the rooftop solar segment, creating a strategic pathway for participation under the Government of India’s flagship initiative, PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the company said in a statement.

Swashakthi Energy has been awarded 7.46 MWp of Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar (RTS) projects by the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP) under the Surya Ghar scheme. As part of this allocation, Swashakthi Energy has assigned Oswal Solar Energy for fulfilment of the order.

The scope of the order includes complete design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of 7.46 MWp grid-connected rooftop solar systems, along with a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract (CMC). These systems will be installed for 3,729 SC and ST consumers across the Pulivendula and Puttaparthy divisions under APSPDCL in Andhra Pradesh, stated the company.

Commenting on the order, Vivek Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, Oswal Pumps, said, “This order paves the way for the company to participate in the Government of India’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and marks an important milestone in our commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy transition. We are confident that the successful execution of this project will strengthen our presence in the rooftop solar segment, enable deeper market penetration, diversify our product and market segment, and open the door to larger opportunities in the future.”

He further added, “Our entry into this segment comes at an opportune time, coinciding with the Union Budget’s enhanced allocation for the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which has been increased from INR 17,000 crore to INR 22,000 crore. This initiative enables us to leverage enabling policy support, rising electricity tariffs, and increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions.”
