PVV Infra Limited has announced the signing of a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) for establishing a state-of-the-art 1 GW N-Type TOPCon Solar Cells Manufacturing Facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The agreement was formalized on 15 November 2025 and marks a significant step in strengthening India’s rapidly expanding domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
Under this MoU, PVV Infra will invest approximately ₹650 crore in the development of the advanced solar cell manufacturing plant. The facility is set to become a major contributor to India’s goal of boosting local production capacity in high-efficiency solar technologies. Spread across 30 acres, the project aims to leverage PVV Infra’s strengths in investment, technology, planning, design, and manufacturing expertise to create a world-class production ecosystem.
The upcoming facility is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities in the region. By 2026, the project will create 350 direct jobs within the factory premises, including both payroll and contract employees. Additionally, around 450 indirect jobs will be generated through extended value-chain activities such as logistics, supply chain operations, services, and ancillary units.
The proposed plant in Visakhapatnam will focus on producing next-generation N-Type TOPCon solar cells, known for their higher efficiency, improved performance, and longer lifespan compared to traditional solar technologies. This investment is expected to significantly support India’s renewable energy ambitions and reduce reliance on imported solar components.
PVV Infra’s collaboration with APEDB underscores Andhra Pradesh’s growing appeal as a hub for advanced manufacturing and clean energy investments. The project is anticipated to accelerate industrial development in the state while contributing to India’s broader mission of achieving sustainable, self-reliant solar production.
