Enrich Energy has announced the groundbreaking of a 290 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project for NTPC at Simhadri, Andhra Pradesh.

The Ground Breaking Ceremony was jointly organised by NTPC and Enrich, at the project site in the presence of senior NTPC officials, including Ajay Sharma, Regional Executive Director (South) and Executive Director (Engineering), and Ayaskanta Jena, Head of Project, Simhadri, along with Enrich’s project team.

Enrich stated that it has secured the prestigious project from NTPC under a full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for delivering the Battery Energy Storage System. The project scope includes end-to-end BESS installation and integration with the existing thermal power station infrastructure.

The scope of work further covers deployment of advanced battery systems, Battery Management System (BMS), Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), inverter-duty transformers, and a 400 kVA substation with bay integration to the 33kV switchgear. The project also includes protection and communication systems, auxiliary systems, fire safety infrastructure, remote monitoring and control facilities, along with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services.
