Navitas Solar has unveiled plans to invest ₹1,500 crore in Gujarat to establish a 3.6 GW solar cell manufacturing facility, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
The proposed facility will enhance the company’s presence across the solar value chain and support the country’s push toward greater self-reliance in renewable energy manufacturing. As part of the expansion, Navitas Solar also plans to set up a pilot wafer and ingot manufacturing line, laying the foundation for deeper backward integration in solar production.
The investment aligns with India’s broader efforts to build a robust domestic supply chain for solar components, reduce import dependence, and support the rapid deployment of renewable energy projects nationwide.
With the new manufacturing capacity, Navitas Solar aims to contribute to the growing demand for high-quality solar products while supporting the government’s vision of establishing India as a global hub for clean energy manufacturing.
