TREX Energy, an Indian energy storage solutions company, has commissioned a lithium battery manufacturing facility at E-City, Raviryal, Maheshwaram, Hyderabad, Telangana, to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and support India’s growing demand for battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The facility features a 12 PPM automatic module assembly line designed to manufacture 52S battery packs for 261 kWh and 5 MWh energy storage systems. The automated production line is intended to improve manufacturing efficiency, ensure production consistency and strengthen quality control.
TREX Energy’s energy storage portfolio ranges from 5 kWh to 5 MWh, catering to residential, commercial and industrial (C&I), and utility-scale applications. Its solutions include energy storage systems for factories, offices and commercial facilities, utility-scale storage for grid applications and renewable energy projects, residential energy storage systems, and home inverter batteries.
The company aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing of energy storage solutions suited to Indian operating conditions, while reducing dependence on imports and improving delivery timelines.
Commenting on the development, Bharat S. Chhittarka, Director, TREX Energy, said the company is focused on reducing financing costs to make BESS more affordable and reliable for the Indian market.
Roshan Shaik, Technical Director, TREX Energy, said the automated assembly line would support the efficient and consistent production of battery modules, enabling the company to serve energy storage requirements across different applications.
TREX Energy is also planning the next phase of its manufacturing expansion. The Madhya Pradesh government has allotted four acres of land to the company for a proposed Phase 2 facility. Further details regarding the facility’s manufacturing capacity, development timeline and commissioning are yet to be confirmed.
The Hyderabad facility marks a step in TREX Energy’s efforts to expand its domestic manufacturing footprint and address the evolving requirements of India’s energy storage sector.
