IB Solar Announces ₹3,000 Crore Investment for 4GW Solar Cell Facility in Uttar Pradesh

IB Solar has announced a major investment of ₹3,000 crore to establish a 4GW solar cell manufacturing facility in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, Uttar Pradesh.

This facility will mark one of the largest solar cell projects in India, supporting the government’s vision to boost domestic solar manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports.

The project will:

  • Add 4GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity annually.
  • Create thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the region.
  • Support Atmanirbhar Bharat by making India self-reliant in renewable energy.
  • Contribute to achieving the 500 GW green energy target by 2030.

Speaking on the announcement, the leadership team at IB Solar highlighted that this initiative reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India’s clean energy transition.

The upcoming YEIDA facility will be powered by advanced automation, world-class technology, and sustainable manufacturing practices, positioning IB Solar as a key contributor to India’s renewable growth story.
