Aroma Solar has announced the commissioning of its 1.2 GW fully automated TOPCon solar module manufacturing plant in Karnal, Haryana, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. The newly operational facility is equipped to produce high-efficiency TOPCon modules with power output ranging between 620 W and 635 W, achieving an efficiency of around 23.5 percent. Designed with advanced manufacturing capabilities, the plant integrates 100 percent robotic automation along with AI-driven quality inspection systems. This ensures precision in critical processes such as cell placement and lamination, helping improve long-term performance and reduce defects in solar modules. According to the company, the facility represents a shift towards quality-focused solar manufacturing, leveraging advanced machinery and Tier-1 raw materials to deliver reliable and high-performance modules. With this commissioning, Aroma Solar is also planning further expansion of its manufacturing capabilities. The company is exploring opportunities to move upstream into solar cell and wafer production, aiming to enhance vertical integration and strengthen supply chain control. The development aligns with India’s broader push to boost domestic solar manufacturing capacity and reduce reliance on imports, supporting the country’s growing renewable energy ambitions.
