GH2 India and CertifHy have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) at the World Hydrogen Summit 2026 to strengthen hydrogen certification readiness and support the development of India’s emerging green hydrogen ecosystem.
The collaboration aims to help Indian stakeholders better understand the European Union’s Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) certification requirements, which are becoming increasingly important for companies targeting international hydrogen markets. Through the partnership, both organizations will work to enhance awareness and build capabilities around global certification standards through training programs, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and practical guidance resources.
Under the agreement, GH2 India will lead stakeholder outreach and ecosystem engagement activities across India, while CertifHy will provide access to certification expertise and specialized training through its CertifHy Academy platform. The initiative is expected to support project developers, hydrogen producers, investors, and industry participants in navigating the evolving landscape of international certification frameworks.
The partnership will also explore the development of India-focused guidance materials and engagement programs designed to address the specific needs of the country’s rapidly growing green hydrogen sector. By improving understanding of certification requirements, the collaboration aims to facilitate smoother access to international markets and strengthen confidence among investors and buyers.
As India accelerates the implementation of its National Green Hydrogen Mission and positions itself as a future exporter of green hydrogen and its derivatives, certification readiness is becoming a critical factor for market access, project bankability, and long-term industry credibility.
Industry experts believe that globally recognized certification frameworks will play a key role in enabling cross-border trade, ensuring transparency, and establishing trust across the hydrogen value chain. The GH2 India–CertifHy partnership is expected to contribute significantly to these objectives by helping Indian stakeholders align with international standards and prepare for future export opportunities.
The announcement highlights the growing importance of certification and compliance mechanisms as the global hydrogen economy evolves and countries work toward establishing trusted, transparent, and sustainable hydrogen markets.
