Jio-bp and Vertelo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging and leasing solutions for commercial electric vehicles, including buses and trucks, across India.
The collaboration brings together Jio-bp’s fast-charging network and Vertelo’s commercial EV leasing capabilities to help fleet operators access more convenient and reliable charging solutions.
Under the agreement, the companies will explore several initiatives, including improved visibility of charging locations for Vertelo customers, preferential charging tariffs and turnkey charging infrastructure projects across selected cities and highway corridors.
The partnership aims to address key challenges faced by commercial fleet operators as they transition to electric mobility. By aligning vehicle leasing solutions with charging infrastructure, the companies intend to simplify EV adoption and support the operational requirements of electric bus and truck fleets.
Jio-bp, the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility Limited, is expanding its EV charging network to support commercial vehicles and high-demand transport corridors. Vertelo, an electric mobility platform, provides leasing and financing solutions to facilitate fleet electrification.
The collaboration also aligns with India’s broader efforts to accelerate electric mobility and strengthen the supporting infrastructure required for commercial EV adoption.
As electric buses and trucks gain traction in public transportation and logistics, partnerships combining financing, vehicle access and charging infrastructure could play an important role in advancing sustainable transportation across the country.
The agreement establishes a framework to explore potential solutions, with specific projects and implementation plans to be developed further.
