Juniper Green Energy has fully commissioned its 75 MW Tata hybrid project in Maharashtra following the commissioning of 36.25 MWp of solar capacity at Bhigwan in Pune district. The project, developed through Juniper Green Beam Eight Private Limited, a subsidiary of Juniper Green Energy, comprises 36.25 MWp of solar and 50 MW of wind capacity. It has been developed under a 75 MW power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tata Power.
The solar component is connected to the Bhigwan substation in Pune district, while the wind component is connected to the Nilanga substation in Latur district. The 50 MW wind component was commissioned in phases during July and August 2026. With the commissioning of the Bhigwan solar capacity, the entire 75 MW hybrid project is now operational. The project combines solar and wind generation across two locations in Maharashtra, with Tata Power serving as the offtaker under the PPA.
The commissioning also adds Tata Power to Juniper Green Energy’s growing customer base, which includes discoms, utilities and other power consumers. Ankush Malik, whole-time director and CEO, Juniper Green Energy, said the completion of the project marks another milestone in the company’s expansion of its renewable energy portfolio and diversification of its offtake base.
“Completing the project with the commissioning of the Bhigwan solar capacity demonstrates our ability to execute integrated solar and wind projects across multiple locations while maintaining a strong focus on timely delivery. We remain focused on expanding our operational portfolio and building a diversified renewable energy platform that can support India’s growing demand for clean and reliable power,” Malik said. Following the commissioning, Juniper Green Energy’s aggregate operational renewable energy capacity has reached approximately 2,725 MWp, along with 503 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
The company has a total renewable energy portfolio of more than 11 GWp and 8.9 GWh of BESS capacity. The portfolio includes operational, under-construction, contracted and awarded projects. Juniper Green Energy is an independent renewable energy power producer focused on utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid and firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects. The company has been developing renewable energy assets in India since October 2018, with capabilities spanning project development, construction and operations.
The commissioning of the Tata hybrid project adds to the company’s operating portfolio at a time when hybrid renewable energy projects are gaining importance in India’s power market, as developers combine different renewable generation sources to support more consistent power supply.
