“India is building renewable-energy assets at an unprecedented scale. Our ambition is to build the protection ecosystem that helps safeguard those assets.”

Q1. Tell us about Thelex India and its key areas of business in the renewable energy sector.

“India is generating more solar power than ever before. But as renewable-energy systems grow, one question becomes increasingly important—who protects the power?”

That is where THELEX India Pvt. Ltd. is building its story.

Based in Ahmedabad, THELEX is an electrical protection brand focused on products for solar, renewable-energy and electrical power systems. The company started with a straightforward idea: good electrical protection should be reliable, practical and accessible to the Indian market.

Today, that idea is becoming much bigger.

THELEX focuses on AC and DC electrical protection, with products used in solar installations, ACDB/DCDB systems, electrical panels and Balance of System applications.

What gives us an advantage is our connection with the market. We work closely with solar EPC companies, installers, panel builders, ACDB/DCDB manufacturers, dealers, distributors and project companies. This keeps us close to what is actually happening at project sites—what customers are asking for, where problems occur and how protection requirements are changing.

And that market feedback plays an important role in how we think about future products.

For us, THELEX is not simply about selling an SPD, MCB or fuse.

The bigger vision is to build a trusted protection ecosystem around renewable energy and the entire electrical power system.

Q2. What are the key products and solutions offered by Thelex India for solar and renewable energy projects? What makes your solutions different in the market?

“Protection products may be small compared with the size of a solar project—but the responsibility they carry is anything but small.”

THELEX offers a growing range of electrical protection products including AC Surge Protection Devices, DC Surge Protection Devices, DC MCBs, DC Fuse Holders, DC Fuse Links and other protection solutions for solar, renewable-energy and electrical applications.

Think about a solar installation. It may have high-value solar modules, sophisticated inverters and other expensive equipment. But the reliability of the complete system also depends on the protection around those assets.

That is why, at THELEX, we don’t believe protection should ever be an afterthought.

One area where we have created significant product depth is surge protection.

Today, THELEX is India’s only company to offers more than 155+ SPD product variants, covering a wide range of voltage levels, configurations and applications. For EPCs, panel builders and system integrators, this means greater freedom to select an SPD according to the actual application instead of trying to make a limited product range fit every requirement.

But range alone is not enough.

THELEX is 1st brand who introduced of a 5-year warranty on SPDs in our market. It was an important step for us because a longer warranty is more than a marketing statement—it represents the confidence we place in our products and the commitment we make to our customers.

Our philosophy is built around three things: the right product for the right application, dependable quality and suitability for Indian operating conditions.

We also understand that every customer looks at protection differently. An EPC wants technical consistency and availability for projects. A panel manufacturer wants products that can be integrated reliably. A distributor wants range, availability and dependable support.

Our job is to bring those requirements together.

155+ SPD variants. A pioneering 5-year SPD warranty. And one clear ambition—to make THELEX a name people associate with confidence in protection.

Q3. With increasing demand for reliable and efficient renewable energy systems, what technologies or product innovations is Thelex focusing on to meet changing industry requirements?

“The renewable-energy system of tomorrow will not look exactly like the system we are installing today. Protection technology cannot afford to stand still.”

Solar installations are becoming larger. DC voltages are increasing. Power electronics are becoming more sophisticated. And now, energy storage is rapidly entering the conversation.

For protection-product companies, this changes the game.

THELEX is therefore strengthening its DC protection portfolio while continuously studying the changing requirements of solar installations, electrical panels and emerging renewable-energy applications.

One area that particularly interests us is BESS—Battery Energy Storage Systems.

As India installs more renewable-energy capacity, storing energy and making it available when required will become increasingly important. And wherever there are high-capacity DC systems, there is also a need to think seriously about protection.

This creates new possibilities for appropriately engineered DC fuses, fuse holders, MCBs, surge-protection devices and other DC protection solutions, depending on the architecture and requirements of the system.

We are studying these developments carefully.

Because innovation, in our view, is not about waiting for a market to become crowded and then launching another product.

The real opportunity is to understand where the industry is heading—and start preparing before the requirement becomes mainstream.

Q4. Solar projects are growing across utility-scale, C&I and distributed segments. How is Thelex supporting EPCs, developers and other industry players with its products and solutions?

“A rooftop system and a large solar project may be worlds apart in scale, but both depend on one fundamental requirement—reliable protection.”

India’s solar industry has become extremely diverse.

A residential installer may be working on a few kilowatts. A C&I EPC may be executing projects across multiple locations. A larger developer may be dealing with entirely different project volumes and technical requirements.

Their scale is different, but their expectations from protection products are surprisingly similar: quality, consistency, availability and support.

THELEX works with channel partners, panel builders, EPC companies and solar businesses to make commonly required protection products accessible to the market while providing responsive commercial and technical support.

As projects become larger, however, simply supplying material is not enough.

Imagine an EPC executing the same project design across multiple locations. The team cannot afford to discover halfway through execution that specifications have changed, products are unavailable or quality differs from one supply batch to another.

They need repeatable specifications, predictable quality, timely availability and a supplier capable of scaling with the project.

That is why our approach is gradually moving beyond conventional product selling toward solution-oriented and project-focused support.

Our goal is straightforward:

An EPC should be able to specify THELEX confidently. A panel builder should be able to work with it consistently. And a distributor should be able to recommend it comfortably.

Q5. What are the major market trends you are currently seeing in India’s renewable energy sector, and how is Thelex preparing to address these opportunities?

“India’s renewable-energy story is getting bigger—but more importantly, it is getting more mature.”

For years, much of the conversation was about one number: how much renewable capacity India could add.

That conversation is changing.

The next phase is increasingly about scale, localisation, reliability, energy storage, smarter systems and stronger domestic supply chains.

We are seeing several changes happening at the same time—rapid growth in rooftop and distributed solar, continued expansion of C&I projects, larger project execution, greater attention to domestic manufacturing and growing interest in battery energy storage.

But there is another trend that receives less attention: the customer is changing too.

EPC companies, system integrators and professional buyers are becoming more informed about the products going into their systems.

The lowest purchase price is no longer the only conversation. Customers are increasingly looking at product consistency, technical suitability, traceability, availability, support and long-term reliability.

And that shift is important for THELEX.

We are responding by strengthening our existing protection portfolio, developing deeper industry relationships and studying new products for emerging applications across solar, DC protection and energy storage.

The renewable-energy opportunity will not belong only to companies making modules, inverters or batteries. Every large renewable-energy system needs an ecosystem of electrical, control and protection products around it.

That ecosystem will grow as renewable energy grows.

India is building the renewable-energy infrastructure of tomorrow. That infrastructure will need an equally strong protection ecosystem—and THELEX intends to be part of building it.

Q6. Does Thelex have any plans for new products, capacity expansion, technology development or strengthening its presence in new markets in the coming years?

“For THELEX, the next phase is not simply about adding more products. It is about entering the right product categories at the right time.”

Our immediate priority is to strengthen THELEX’s position in the solar and electrical protection market while gradually expanding into products that complement our existing AC and DC protection portfolio.

One important direction is advanced DC protection.

Another is the emerging Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market, where we see future opportunities for specialised protection products as the sector develops in India.

At the same time, we are very clear about one thing: a bigger catalogue does not automatically make a stronger brand.

Every product carrying the THELEX name should solve a genuine application requirement, have a clearly defined market and deliver the level of quality customers expect from us.

Our expansion is therefore not limited to products.

We are also strengthening our presence across India and looking at deeper engagement with OEMs, EPC companies, system integrators, panel builders, distributors and renewable-energy project companies.

The aim is to build both sides of THELEX simultaneously—a wider product portfolio and a stronger market network.

Our philosophy can be summed up in one line:

“Expand the range, expand the reach—but never dilute the reliability of the brand.”

Q7. What is your vision for Thelex India over the next 3–5 years, and what role do you see the company playing in India’s renewable energy growth?

“We don’t want THELEX to be remembered simply as another component brand. We want it to become a name associated with protection.”

That is the direction we see for the next three to five years.

Our roadmap revolves around three major priorities: deeper products, wider market reach and readiness for the technologies that are coming next.

We want to strengthen our portfolio for solar and DC applications, develop capabilities for emerging energy-storage requirements and build deeper relationships with EPCs, manufacturers, distributors and project companies across India.

But there is a much bigger story behind that ambition.

India is building renewable-energy infrastructure at extraordinary scale. Every solar plant commissioned, every rooftop system installed, every C&I project completed and every battery-storage system deployed represents an asset that is expected to perform reliably for years.

Generating the power is one part of that story.

Protecting it is another.

That is where we see the future of THELEX.

We want to evolve from a protection-component brand into a recognised protection partner for India’s renewable-energy and electrical ecosystem.

The coming years will bring bigger renewable projects, higher-capacity DC systems, more distributed generation and greater energy storage. As the value and complexity of these assets increase, dependable electrical protection will become even more important.

If the coming decade belongs to renewable power, then protecting that power will carry an equally important responsibility.

And our vision is clear:

We want THELEX to be one of the Indian names trusted with that responsibility.
