NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has commissioned 68.22 MW of solar power capacity as part of its 200 MW Dahod Solar Project in Gujarat, marking another addition to the company’s renewable energy portfolio.
The 68.22 MW capacity represents the third phase of the Dahod Solar Project and was declared on commercial operation with effect from July 23, 2026. The commercial operation was formally certified by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) on September 17, 2026.
The project is being executed through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy. Following the commissioning, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group increased from 10,842.86 MW to 10,911.08 MW.
The Dahod project forms part of NGEL’s ongoing expansion of utility-scale renewable energy assets across India. The commissioning of the latest phase adds further solar generation capacity in Gujarat and contributes to the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio.
The development comes alongside another capacity addition by NTPC REL in Gujarat. On September 19, 2026, 9.45 MW of the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch, was also declared commercially operational. With this addition, the NTPC Green Energy group’s total installed capacity rose further to 10,920.53 MW.
The latest commissioning activity reflects the phased development approach adopted for large renewable energy projects, with capacity being brought into commercial operation in multiple parts as individual sections become ready.
NTPC Green Energy continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio through solar, wind, hybrid renewable energy and energy storage projects. Its recent project activity includes solar capacity additions in Gujarat and Rajasthan, along with developments in battery energy storage and round-the-clock renewable power. The company has also secured additional renewable energy opportunities, including a 500 MW capacity award in SECI’s assured peak power tender and 200 MW/800 MWh standalone BESS capacity in West Bengal.
With the latest Dahod commissioning, NGEL’s renewable generation portfolio continues to scale, while the phased addition of projects across Gujarat and other states strengthens its contribution to India’s expanding clean-energy generation base.
