NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has operationalised an additional 270 MW of solar capacity at its 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat, marking another milestone in the company’s renewable energy expansion. The project is being developed through its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.
With this latest commissioning, the operational capacity of the Khavda-II solar project has increased to 645 MW, while the total installed capacity of the NGEL group has risen to 9,562.68 MW.
According to the company, the newly operationalised capacity represents the third phase of the Khavda-II project and has been declared commercially operational effective 11 March 2026. The power generated from the project has begun supplying electricity to the grid.
The Khavda renewable energy park in the Rann of Kutch region is among India’s largest renewable energy developments and forms a key part of NTPC’s strategy to expand its green energy portfolio.
NTPC continues to scale up renewable capacity across the country as part of its broader energy transition strategy, which includes significant investments in large-scale solar parks and other clean energy projects.
