Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Marine Living Resources & Ecology (CMLRE), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, for the installation of a grid-connected rooftop solar (GCRT) System at CMLRE in Kochi, Kerala.
The initiative will be implemented under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the Government of India’s flagship programme aimed at accelerating rooftop solar adoption and promoting the use of renewable energy.
The MoU marks another step towards increasing the adoption of clean energy solutions across Government institutions. The rooftop solar installation at CMLRE is expected to contribute to the institution’s use of renewable electricity while supporting broader national objectives for a sustainable and greener energy future.
The MoU was signed and exchanged by Dr. R. S. Maheskumar, Head & Scientist ‘G’, CMLRE, and Sh. Manas Ranjan Mishra, DGM & HoD (Solar), SECI.
Through such collaborations, SECI and Government institutions are supporting the wider deployment of rooftop solar systems and strengthening the role of renewable energy in public-sector establishments.
