Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has announced a strategic investment of ₹75 crore into its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited (SESL), to develop a new solar cell and photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

SESL, incorporated on 6 September 2010, is engaged in the manufacturing of solar structures and solar rooftop solutions. In FY2025, the company reported a turnover of ₹216.53 crore, building on growth from ₹139.59 crore in FY2024.

The planned manufacturing plant will have an annual production capacity of 2.20 GW, marking a major step forward in Shakti Pumps’ expansion into advanced solar component manufacturing, including domestic solar cell and module production — a key focus area under India’s renewable energy manufacturing initiatives.

The investment will be made through the issuance of equity shares to SESL. Since SESL is already a wholly owned subsidiary of Shakti Pumps, the transaction does not qualify as a related party transaction, and arm’s length norms are not applicable. No regulatory or governmental approvals are required for the transaction, and the company expects the investment process to be completed on the same day.

This move will strengthen the company’s foothold in the clean energy sector and support its objectives to scale up indigenous solar manufacturing capabilities. The expansion is expected to contribute to local manufacturing growth, generate employment opportunities, and further support India’s renewable energy targets.
