NTPC Renewable Energy Secures SECI Bid to Supply 70,000 MT of Green Ammonia

NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has secured a significant green ammonia supply contract awarded by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

In a regulatory filing, NTPC Green announced that it has emerged as the successful bidder to supply 70,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green ammonia at a price of ₹51.80 per kilogram. The auction was conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on August 4, 2025, through an e-reverse bidding process.

NTPC REL Wins Part of SECI’s 7.24 lakh MT Tender

This award is part of SECI’s broader green ammonia procurement initiative, which targets an annual supply of 7.24 lakh metric tonnes across 13 locations nationwide. NTPC REL’s allocation under this plan is designated for supply to Krishana Phoschem Limited, located in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh.

NTPC JV Adds 75 MW Solar Power in Rajasthan

In a significant milestone, IRCON Renewable Power, a joint venture involving Ayana Renewable Power, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green, has successfully commissioned 75 MW (Lot-5) of its ambitious 500 MW solar power project in Rajasthan. With this latest addition, the plant’s total operational capacity has now reached 300 MW.

As per the company’s filing, the newly commissioned 75 MW capacity has been declared commercially operational as of August 6, 2025. The plant is a key component of India’s expanding renewable energy infrastructure, and it’s phased commissioning marks steady progress in the development of large-scale solar power.
