NTPC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Octopus Energy Group to explore collaborative opportunities across the power and energy sector, marking a significant step in strengthening India–UK clean energy partnerships.
The agreement focuses on identifying synergies in key areas such as renewable energy development, power distribution, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and digital energy platforms. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to accelerating the global transition toward sustainable and low-carbon energy systems.
Through this partnership, NTPC aims to leverage Octopus Energy Group’s expertise in innovative energy solutions, particularly in retail supply, smart energy technologies, and customer-centric digital platforms. In turn, Octopus Energy is expected to benefit from NTPC’s extensive experience in large-scale power generation and India’s rapidly expanding energy market.
The MoU aligns with NTPC’s broader strategy to diversify its portfolio beyond conventional power and scale up its renewable energy capacity. The company has been actively pursuing clean energy initiatives, including solar, wind, green hydrogen, and energy storage, as part of India’s decarbonisation roadmap.
