The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ECOFUEL EV Charging Technologies Pvt. Ltd. to jointly accelerate the development of e-mobility solutions and renewable energy–based EV charging infrastructure in India.

The MoU was signed at TERI’s headquarters in New Delhi by Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI, and Mr. Manoj Gupta, CEO, Ecofuel.

Under this strategic collaboration, TERI and Ecofuel will work together on a series of technical studies, research initiatives, and pilot projects aimed at strengthening India’s electric mobility ecosystem. The partnership will focus on critical areas such as clean transportation, integration of renewable energy in charging networks, and scaling sustainable mobility solutions nationwide.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Dhawan highlighted the central role of transportation in achieving India’s net-zero commitments.

“As we strive for net zero as a country—whether in corporate sectors, housing, or shipping—we must recognise that transport is the critical pivot point. A port cannot be truly ‘green’ if the vehicles servicing it are not. To succeed, we must decarbonise the entire logistics fleet, making cleaner fuels and green vehicles essential,” she said.

Echoing this vision, Mr. Gupta emphasised that India’s energy transition extends far beyond vehicle electrification.

“When we speak of energy transition, it is not merely about e-mobility; we are effectively redeveloping India’s entire infrastructure, its people, its technology, and its culture. This transition touches every aspect of life. It is about ‘passenger experience management’—understanding how society adopts and embraces this new change,” he added.

The TERI–Ecofuel partnership is expected to create new pathways for innovation, policy support, and deployment of sustainable charging infrastructure—further strengthening India’s commitment to green mobility and renewable energy adoption.
