“Our product steals the show with its compact and robust design to ensure minimal leakage currents, increased efficiency accomodating the latest technology demands. The integrated module diode ensures thermal stability under high voltage conditions.”
Solera’s PV junction boxes are rated for high DC voltage (up to 1500 V DC). Could you explain the key electrical design considerations you use to ensure insulation integrity, minimal leakage currents, and thermal stability under high-voltage conditions?
PV Junction Boxes play a very important role in ensuring the service life of solar photovoltaic modules to meet the 25-year promise. Despite its small and compact design, Solera Junction Boxes are the most crucial components for reliability. Our product steals the show with its compact and robust design to ensure minimal leakage currents, increased efficiency accomodating the latest technology demands. The integrated module diode ensures thermal stability under high voltage conditions.
High operating currents and harsh outdoor environments can lead to heat buildup. What thermal management strategies and materials (e.g., encapsulants, enclosures) does Solera deploy in its junction boxes to improve heat dissipation and extend product lifespan?
The Solera Junction Box comes with an integrated module diode providing superior heat dissipation and maintaining a controlled junction temperature. The premium grade plastic material used for the enclosure has thermal endurance of up to 125°C, a flame class of 5VA and an ingress protection rating of IP68, making the product more robust for harsh conditions and superior to any similar product in the market.
Your products are designed to withstand challenging weather conditions. Can you walk us through how you achieve and verify high ingress protection (e.g., IP ratings) and long-term UV, moisture, and dust resistance during product development and testing?
At Solera Technologies, we are leading the way in technological advancements in the industry. We have recently implemented cutting-edge technology in our Junction Boxes, achieving superior efficiency. To enhance our testing capabilities, we have expanded our Heat testing chamber and Dust testing chamber so that we ensure our commitment to quality and innovation.
Solera emphasises continuous process optimisation and quality inspection. Can you describe the automated or statistical process control (SPC) techniques you implement on the production line to ensure electrical, mechanical, and environmental consistency batch after batch?
From the start, the quality of the product has always spoken in favour of the organisation, driving us forward to become the most preferred and reliable choice among clients. Solera promises high reliability and unrivaled customer oriented service. We continuously upgrade our product range and offer solutions. These solutions also increase system performance. In the production line, we have greatly benefited from relying on our core technologies and high-quality manufacturing processes, improving product performance, conversion efficiency, product reliability and reducing technology-related costs.
With bifacial, half-cut, and shingled solar modules becoming mainstream, how are Solera’s junction boxes evolving in terms of current handling, connector interfaces, and thermal design to cater to the electrical and mechanical demands of these next-generation modules?
The module industry is adapting new technology on a daily basis, & that we do too in Solera. Keeping ourselves one step ahead, we introduced 30A & 35A JB for high-watt pick bifacial modules, so that our customers get one stop solution for Junction Boxes.
